Did you know Gene Autry’s recording of the song hit No. 1 on the Billboard pop singles chart the week of Christmas 1949? True story. In fact, it sold over 2.5 million copies in its first year and eventually sold over 25 million. It was the second best-selling record of all time until the 1980s. Wow! Rudolph is pretty popular.
I’m not going to show you how to play Gene Autry’s version of the song, but an instrumental version of the song for two guitarists to play. One will assume the role of rhythm guitar and the other will take the melody. It only has 3 different chords and the lead melody isn’t too hard to play, so you’ll have no problems playing it at your Christmas party.
