And Now, With Chord Phrasing…
Now, in the second example, we’ll play the chord progression using chord phrasing (like Hendrix and SRV played it). You’ll hear embellishments as well as subtracted notes that create a much more complex piece of music- not just the same old chords strummed over and over.
That’s quite a change! With chord phrasing, we are playing along with the chord progression while using notes from the basic scale patterns associated with each chord voicing.
