"West Coast Blues" by Wes Montgomery

Riff Rundown

Difficulty: Advanced

There's only one guitar part in this song, and it's hard. What I have done is break down the intro into pieces. Watch for the timing, as it's in 6/4.

Intro

Notice the "1" at the end of this measure. I DID play that, but I didn't play the "2" found on your version of the tablature. It's just a repeat into the Guitar Theme.

Here's the full intro:

Guitar Theme

Instead of splicing these pieces together to make them "look" pretty, I literally pulled the lines below directly off the tablature so you could pick up each part without searching for it.

1.

This part leaves off the VERY last note in the last measure, because you'll need it to transition into the next measure, which is shown below.

2.

Again, picking up from the last measure above:

3.

4.

I didn't play back on the double music bar below. I just played through. You'll probably want to print out and listen to the PTB file for ease of reference, as the file would be too large to play on the site.

5.

Guitar Solo

In this installment, we are going to solo up to line 49 on your PTB score (when you get to the double lines on the Music bar.) We'll cover more of this song later, as this is a very taxing song to play both physically and time-wise.

Here's the FULL solo up to that point.
(we all want a challenge!)

Good Luck! We'll get more up here asap.
