We’re gonna work with our metronome set at 76 beats per minute and 80 beats per minute. We’re slowly building some speed up here.
Exercise 1
Use your 1st finger and 4th finger to fret the notes. Then use your 1st finger and 3rd finger.
Each time that metronome clicks you’re hitting that fifth fret. The note on the eighth fret is in sounds on the upbeat.
one first finger and third finger one two three four don’t forget on this exercise you can do your an endurance test and just play it as fast as you can without the metronome for as long as you can just keep going every time yourself see if you can get you know 30 seconds or more it’s really gonna make that hand cramp after a while so we’ve onto exercise to gut hammer-ons and pull-offs we’re on the B string fifth fret and we’re onto eight pull off the fifth fret and we’re on the sixth fret
so if we try that with our metronome 670 almost said 67 76 beats per minute 1 2 3 4 and what about 80 beats per minute 1 2 3 4 all right let’s move on to exercise number 3 3 4 3 4 3 4 hammer ons and pull offs a D string using the 3rd and 4th finger it’s gonna hurt 1 2 3 4 slide that down and do it on the right Fred’s I guess it doesn’t really matter 1 2 3 4
that clumsy pinky is gonna do gonna throw you off a little bit but we got a train that sucker it’s tried at 80 beats per minute one two three four that exercise is no fun exercise for last exercise one four one four on the low E string all hammer-ons and pull-offs well count it off seventy six beats per minute one two three
now let’s try today one two three now all four of these exercise are good for endurance and strength training just again play them fast without that metronome and just keep going and tell you he is can’t stand it no more probably the worst one is exercise 3 that one’s gonna kill you it’s hard really hard to go for a spit worth it is a time when my hands already cramping so I spend some time with these four exercises using that metronome 76 beats per minute and 80 beats per minute and then 20-30 seconds each exercise without the metronome playing the exercise is relatively fast constantly for that 20 or 30 seconds so that’s it for session 18
we’re gonna play it along with our metronome that’s 70 CQ six beats per minute 76 beats the count of four one two three four
so each time that click metronome clicks you’re hitting that fifth fret the note on the eighth fret is in between the beat first and third three one two three four
alright now let’s do it at eighty beats just slightly faster one two three four
