"If I Know Me" by George Strait

Difficulty: Easy

You will need a capo on the second fret for this one. I have had quite a few people ask for more country, so here is one. Please feel free to tell me which specific country songs you want to learn to make it much easier for me to make everyone happy. Remember, all notes are relative to the capo.

Intro

The intro is using basic chord patterns with some really neat little fills. Notice that you see a squiggly line in two parts of the measure below. That means that you need to clumsily strum these notes. Just remember to stay in time. The walking 0,1,2 on the A string is a simple bass fill, with which you shouldn't have much trouble.

Fingerings

Verse

The fourth measure is strange, but not very hard if you check out the fingerings. Also, notice the small time change near the end of the verse, which goes from 4/4 to 2/4 and then right back to 4/4 timing. You probably won't notice it if you play in time with the song. You need to also check out the up and down strokes in the tablature below.

An upstroke looks like this :

This means that you will need to pick this string up, or in other words, toward you.

A downstroke looks like this :

This means that you will need to pick this string down, or in other words, away from you.

Chorus

The chorus has a few arpeggios in it, as well as the squiggly line that denotes clumsily strumming the chord and/or notes.
