Open Chord Strumming Exercises

For these exercises we’ll be using a slash sheet. A slash sheet represents a chord progression and tells us how many beats we play the chord. The slashes tell you how many beats the chord gets. The chord that you play is labeled on top of the staff.

All of the chords in this exercise are open chords we have already covered. Simply play the specified chord once for each slash (every chord gets 4 slashes). When you can play through
the whole exercise without looking at the open chord chart, you’ve got it! If you really want to test yourself, break out your metronome. Start off slow and slowly increase the tempo as you progress.

Don’t cheat yourself! Make sure you know these before you move on. Otherwise you may never learn them and that w turn into big problems down the line.
