Chord Phrasing From The A Minor Scale Shape

The Am chord scale pattern is the 4th position pentatonic minor. This means when you are playing a Am chord or a Am style barre chord you can add notes from the Am scale pattern with relative ease, because the scale pattern is built around the chord pattern. On the left you can see the scale pattern with the suggested fingerings and on the right is the Am chord pattern highlighted.
