The D scale pattern is the 3rd position pentatonic major. This means
when you are playing a D chord or a D style barre chord you can add notes
from the D scale pattern with relative ease, because the scale pattern
is built around the chord pattern. On the left you can see the scale pattern
with the suggested fingerings and on the right is the A chord pattern
highlighted.
3rd Position Pentatonic
The D scale Pattern is the same that as the 3rd position pentatonic.
C Pentatonic Major in 3rd Position:
